Sacred Iconography & Iconometry
In the Shilpa Shastra tradition, each divine motif is calculated to evoke spiritual elevation and cosmic harmony. The pot (Kalash) symbolizes the womb of creation (Garbha), while the Ashtalakshmi reliefs channel the eight divine energies of Goddess Lakshmi: Adi (primordial grace), Dhanya (sustenance), Dhairya (courage), Gaja (sovereign strength), Santana (lineage), Vijaya (triumph), Vidya (wisdom), and Dhana (prosperity).
The Lost-Wax Metalcraft Process
Cast through the revered lost-wax (cire-perdue) technique in our Old Delhi atelier. Each curve is sculpted in beeswax, encased in fine Yamuna river clay, and poured with molten bell metal brass. Master karigars finish the facial features and ornamentation entirely by hand using miniature steel chisels, creating a piece that lives and breathes across generations.
Provenance, Patina & Preservation Care
Rooted in the historic lanes of Dariba Kalan and Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi. Crafted in accordance with traditional Shilpa Shastra canons, verified for metallurgical purity, density, and sound resonance before release from the atelier.
Preservation Guidelines: To maintain the deep antique temple patina, gently wipe with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, tamarind, or harsh abrasives unless restoring to mirror-polished raw brass. For consecrated home mandir use, natural sesame oil or pure ghee may be lightly applied to the decorative relief.
